Whimsical and mystical all at once, Meghan's vibrant paintings are both urban reflections and tales of the natural world. What results is an imaginary world that one feels drawn to or even a part of - like you've dreamed it before. Perhaps her lifelong experience of living in some of Western Canada's most beautiful, wild and natural places such as her native Yukon, Nelson and currently Powell River influences her ability to tell such compelling visual stories. Whatever the case is Meghan is one talented lady and a very accomplished artist. Long time fans of Meghan's, we are so happy she will be adding her electric color palette to the mix of our happy homemade show this year! |

Natalie Gerber
After many years of soliciting her, Natalie Gerber
joins us for the first time this year! You will find immaculate
attention to detail in Natalie's work that is rare to find nowadays.
Natalie is not only a great designer but also a skilled technician of
all things textile. From cutting to sewing to printing Natalie's hands
are part of the whole process. She hails originally from South Africa,
but has lived in Canada (Calgary) for close to 20 years now. Her work is
deeply influenced by her native country as you can see in the patterns
she has developed and printed for her latest line of handbags. She'll be
debuting a new line of home accessories at SFM13, also featuring
textile that she designed and printed herself. An SFM debut that is not
to be missed!

Dahlhaus
The best of art, craft and design can be witnessed in Heather Braun-Dahl's ceramic work. With a fine art background and an equally strong talent in painting as in clay one can see the influence of abstract and the Bauhaus art and architecture movement from
the 1920's. Heather says, 'dahlhaus strives to connect art to life in both a practical
and conceptual way'.
We are impressed with her ability to do so and we are definitely not the only ones.
Dahlhaus ceramics are regularly featured in prominent design mags. Big stores who often seek out the talent of independent artists such as Anthropologie and most recently West Elm in Vancouver have also picked up on Heather's palette of vibrant color and geometric tendencies. It is a real skill to be able to work at this level of production and maintain your artistic integrity so we take our hat off to Dahlhaus for making it work and for continuing to make her work!
We are so looking forward to seeing her return to SFM's Lucky #13 show!

riyoko urban bikewear
A mash-up of her life long love for fashion and her ethical values regarding sustainability, Kristi Woo's design priorities with riyoko urban bikewear are two-fold : to feel comfortable and to look good on your bike. We think she's done a great job! Best of all she designs specifically for women in the urban environment [thank you!!!].
With a background in fashion design from Canada's Ryerson Polytechnic University + years of travel experience she has a uniquely sharp sensibility when it comes to designing for versatility and movement. In any of her clothes you can do your daily commute across town and go straight into a business meeting or a social with friends. No more going to the bathroom to peel off your lycra tights and fluorescent nylon jacket to exchange it for the right outfit!
riyoko urban bikewear is consistently at the front edge of trends in the realm of fashion meets function which has garnered attention from leading design communities in San Franciso, New York and Portland. SFM is happy to host riyoko in their official Vancouver debut where you can come see the genius designs for yourself! !
